Why Writers Earn More on Seekyt

Writers are Raving

Many of the content authors at Seekyt.com have been raving how they are earning more money on Seekyt than on other revenue sharing writing sites, and they are doing so in much shorter periods of time than it took with other platforms.

This hub will analyze why Seekyt writers earn more money than similar sites, and examine the method for success at this website.

Simple, Fast, Transparent

Seekyt has been designed to be fast, easy to use, and easy to read, while retaining specific SEO properties. This goes far beyond the typical or traditional design model for revenue sharing sites.

One of the first things that you will notice when reading any of the pages created by a member at Seekyt.com is the lack of Seekyt brand promotion, the missing sidebar, and the focus on content. By focusing specifically on the content the author intended the page to be about, and optimizing the design around each page specifically, members have been able to rank well on Search engines and even do well with referred site traffic converting to income. The ads on Seekyt are not overbearing, yet the largest formats available easily fit right into the design. This allows for the maximum return on traffic possible. It is much easier to fit the page around your content, than it is to fit the content around the page - resulting in higher quality articles with large images able to be embedded.

The revenue sharing model at Seekyt is absolutely, 100% transparent, fair and in the favor of the author. There are no secrets around how much money someone can make on the site, and each click will award 100% of the revenue to a site member when their ads are displayed (70% of the time). Many members of revenue sharing sites are becoming disillusioned, disappointed, and simply angry at other sites taking full fiscal control of the efforts of authors. Seekyt allows members to totally control their content, and to remove it at any time, much like HubPages does. If a user has to be removed from Seekyt for inappropriate conduct, their content is automatically removed and the site is updated at the same time to get rid of all traces of their content. Seekyt does not continue to publish and earn money from people who have lost their ability to contribute. At the same time, only 2 members have ever lost their accounts on Seekyt.com due to inappropriate content. This is an extremely low turnover, considering the rate of growth at this website.

Seekyt.com aims to be a community, and not place to spotlight top-earners. Everyone gets the same exposure, and everyone has the same opportunities to succeed.

Money Is Made - Generous and Easy

Seekyt offers a 70% revenue split with authors. If you look at the top websites in the revenue-sharing industry, there is a reason that they do not share 100% with authors, or offer unrealistic compensation programs. If a website offers a writer 100% of the revenue, or even a referral program with 100% for referrals.. there is an inherent error that either breaks the terms of use with an advertising platform, or creates an unfair advantage for one of the 2-3 parties. Ad placement is key, so who do you think gets the advantage? Sites which typically offer 100% of the revenue do it to quickly fill up their member base with people who simply feel they are getting a great deal, who will spread the word about the site quickly, and put a lot of money into the pocket of the site owner. I don't need to mention the names of these sites, because if you ask most people who write for them or if you yourself have written for them, they will tell you the same story - there is very little money to be made when all activities on the site are self-serving.

Seekyt focuses on the community aspect of revenue sharing with what is one the most generous referral programs online. Writers earn 25% of the AdSense pageviews on every page their referrals create. That 25% comes out of Seekyt's end, not the author. Furthermore, every ad on the page will display the same person's ad at any given time. There are no unfair advantages for anyone, and there are no caps.

The Seekyt referral program is also unique because you can refer members using any Seekyt URL (again, similar to HubPages). That means people can link to other's content, and earn one another money while also working toward a goal of making their own money. It is a win-win-win scenario for the author, the referrer, and for Seekyt. The dynamic of Seekyt changes exponentially for every member that signs up. As membership rates increase, interaction increases and revenue increases for all parties involved. Currently, 90% of all content published on Seekyt will be interacted with within 24 hours of publishing - either resulting in a vote, a twitter share, a digg, a comment or a Seekyt friend being made. There are numerous channels set up for every author to easily link to their content or syndicate it directly to other websites, such as Digg (using the import RSS function).

Is It Any Wonder?

Members are telling me, almost daily, how their earnings and interactions with Seekyt are better than other sites. With more time and a few top-secret projects underway, it won't surprise me one bit if this feeling becomes mutual between 1,000's of authors all over the world in due time. There is still plenty of room to grow, and the ability to pivot, evolve and interact properly with the day to day changes of the internet is what will make Seekyt a continuous winner with authors interested in making money online.

Thanks Brie. At first, I was worried that you meant it took 5 minutes to register - that's until I saw you had already submitted your first bit of content. Phew! I work hard to make Seekyt simple, fast and efficient! Stay tuned for more great stuff at Seekyt.

Already there and loving it! This Hub explains in great detail why Seekyt is superior to many of the "other" writing sites. Admin involvement, new and exciting features, community, no favoritism, and great fun. Good work going on at Seekyt!

Thanks for the "411" on Seekyt. I'm definitely going to check it out.

Okay, I'm confused. I took a tour of Seekyt and I didn't see anything that actually looked like an article (i.e., 400 - 600 words). What I did find was a couple of paragraphs ABOUT an article with a link to that article (on another site) in the title. So is Seekyt essentially a site that lets you create backlinks to articles you've written on other sites like HP or eHow??

howtoguru Hub Author 16 months ago

Hi PWalker281,

You can bookmark AND write articles. Usually, members will bookmark other content they have already written. Why not get as much money as you can out of every piece of content, right? Of course, you can write articles TOO. Here's a great example:

http://seekyt.com/articles/how-to-keep-your-indoor

This article is by crazybeanrider, who writes articles very often and has reported to be doing well with Seekyt. That article is nice and clean, and a great example of a simple, easy to read article.

Here's another example by the user Samuel, who writes technical articles:

http://seekyt.com/health/alzheimers-and-the-8-esse

Of course, you can include as many pictures as you want in an article or bookmark.

I'm working on a way to distinguish bookmarks from articles in the near future.

After you sign up and click the "submit" button, you'll find the option to submit a bookmark, or write an article laid out during step 1 of submission.

Hope that helps :)

Yes, howtoguru, your quick response is EXTREMELY helpful. Thanks so much for the article links. Actually, I've already signed up and was in the process of creating a profile when I saw your response to my comment in my email inbox. It makes sense to bookmark what I've already written first. Plus, I have one hub that has a score of 59 that I may delete and resubmit at Seekyt to see how it does. Thanks again for the links and thanks for creating Seekyt!!

I have one more question - hope it's ok to ask it here. I have signed up and am trying to determine if I need to enter my Adsense publisher's ID or some other code in order to start receiving Adsense income. If yes, how do I do this?

PWalker281 profile image

PWalker281 Level 7 Commenter 16 months ago

Never mind, I figured it out, unless you want to respond so other folk will know.

Pwalker281:

You do need to add your AdSense pub ID. To do so, visit your account at Seekyt (log in - account will be in the main navigation bar at the top of the page). Scroll down your account page and you will find "Settings" on the left hand side. You will then see a field to enter your adsense ID. You only need to enter the numbers (do not enter the pub- or the ca-pub-). After you select "Save" you will get a message if it was successful that your adsense info has been updated. The field will then return to blank for security reasons. As long as you get the success message, everything worked properly. Let me know if you need any more help. I'm glad to help in any way possible :).

Also, submitting a hub which was doing poorly here at HubPages is what made ME see the potential of Seekyt. This article: http://seekyt.com/articles/how-to-chemical-patina- was originally a hub. Although the keywords for it are not high earning ones, the competition was low so I wanted to see how it did. First page within 48 hours (with the help of a few backlinks) for the keyword "chemical patina brass" isn't bad! It's been #2-5 for a few months now.

***Edit*** It seems we submitted our comments at exactly the same time. Glad you figured it out.

Thanks again! Ok, just thought of another question :-).

When you say "... (with the help of a few backlinks) ..." I assume you are using other social bookmarking sites to do this. I think I remember seeing your strategy in another Seekyt hub. Will have to look for it.

Aw man, I didn't realize you were the Hubpages guy with the spider picture...

The one avatar that I immediately get rid of on Seekyt is the spider one. I'm terrified of 'em.

On another note, Seekyt is a great site! One comment that I've heard from a few is that it's helped the traffic to other sites. My goal is to transform my bookmarks into articles so that the quality is higher.

The new Seekyt design made the website a better writing home for both existing and potential new members. A new 30 Days Challenge will be announced very soon, so hopefully, Seekyt writers will answer the call and increase their earnings even more :)

I'd like to add that, from my personal experience, Seekyt is worth every bit of time invested in site interaction!

Seekyt is a really awesome site. I have been building a similar site myself. But I have to say that the layout, design, and features of Seekyt keep getting better. Keep up the good work! I really love the community that has built up around sharing good content, this is great!
